Happy Gilmore was a very fun watch that surprised me in a good way. The short runtime made it an easy and quick film to enjoy. I really like stories where the main character proves everyone wrong. That made me root for Happy throughout the movie. (Happy Gilmore Review).
The story is straightforward but feels new, with a hockey player unexpectedly excelling at golf. I found that idea creative and fun to watch play out. Adam Sandler brings his usual chaotic charm, which fits the character perfectly. Julie Bowen was lovely in her role and added a nice balance.
The movie delivers plenty of goofy humor, sharp sarcasm, and lines that stick with you. Some gags were laugh-out-loud funny, and the random alligator bit was wild. Ben Stiller’s unexpected role made me laugh even more. Honestly, Sandler’s comic timing really works here.
What stood out most was the lighthearted vibe with a sweet ending. It’s not his best film, but it definitely has a nostalgic charm. Happy’s emotional outbursts made him feel like a total manchild, which was hilarious to see. This might be a comedy, but it reminds you not to mess with the wrong person.
